Prices are based on double occupancy. 

All of our trips have a maximum of 10 participants, and at least two trip leaders- one of the best ratios in the industry allowing us to provide the most personalized attention possible.

Includes: Roundtrip private transportation from Reykjavik (pickup included from downtown hotels), accommodations in farmhouses and guesthouses, daily breakfast, guided hikes, horseback riding tour, guided kayak tour, visits to Thingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss, two knowledgeable leaders, online trip photo album.

Does Not Include: Airfare, airport transfers, meals not listed above, alcoholic beverages, travel insurance, optional additional activities (snowmobiling, glacier hiking, etc.), optional leader gratuities.

Additional Information

Accommodations: On this trip, the first two nights you will stay at a quaint farmhouse on the Sn√¶fellsnes Peninsula with beautiful ocean views. This is a small, family run establishment and some of the rooms have shared bathrooms. You can pay a supplement to have a room with a private bathroom, however availability is limited.  The following three nights you will stay at a charming farmhouse/guesthouse in the Westfjords. The guesthouse has hot tubs, an indoor swimming pool, restaurant, and the rooms have amazing views and private bathrooms.

Payment Terms & Conditions: If you are thinking about signing up for a trip but are not yet ready to commit, we offer a 4 day courtesy hold. To secure your space on a trip, a $500 per person deposit is required and can be paid by check or credit card. The remaining trip balance is due no later than 90 days prior to the start of the trip. If you decide to cancel more than 30 days prior to the start of your trip, you will receive a Carpe Mundo credit that is transferable with no expiration for the amount paid, or we will refund your payment less a $250/person cancellation fee.  If you decide to cancel less than 30 days prior to the start of your trip, no refunds or credits will be available.

Release of Liability: We require that everyone participating in a Carpe Mundo trip completes and signs an Assumption of Risk/Liability Release waiver as well as a Personal Information Form. You will receive these after you have registered for a trip, and they must be completed and returned prior to your trip.

Insurance: Due to the nature and locations of our trips, we require that everyone participating in a trip has medical insurance that provides coverage while abroad. Proof of insurance will be needed prior to the start of the trip. If you currently do not have insurance, we can assist in providing some recommendations for short-term insurance. Although not required, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance or a travel protection plan for your trip. We adhere to our cancellation policy, and these plans will protect your trip purchase in the event you cancel under certain circumstances.
