Our
Philosophy
"We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us"
Why Carpe Mundo?
Carpe Mundo is Latin for “seize the world,” and it’s more than just our name, it’s the philosophy behind everything we do. Our trips are thoughtfully crafted to empower you to live your life to the fullest through a blend of exciting activities and authentic cultural experiences. They’re facilitated by passionate and knowledgeable leaders whose goal is for you to get the most out of the trip of your dreams. Carpe diem (seize the day) is a popular saying for encouraging one to live each day to its fullest, but why stop there? Don’t just seize the day, seize the world!
Trip Design
Some tour companies advertise trips they subcontract out to another company or simply copy trip itineraries offered by others. We create our own custom itineraries so we can do what we do best–provide you with the trip of a lifetime you won’t have with any other company. Our years of extensive travel experience and dedicated network of in-country partners provide us with expert knowledge on where to go and what to do that’s beyond the typical European travel tour. Designing and leading trips is not just our job, it is our passion, and after a trip with us, you’ll see why ours are the best. Learn more about the dedicated team behind Carpe Mundo.
Small Groups, Amazing Memories
Our trips have a maximum of 8–12 customers and one or two leaders, with an average group size of 6-8 people. This small group allows us to provide you with more individualized attention and care. It lets us be nimble and adaptable–to live in the moment and seize any opportunity that may come our way along the adventure. Smaller groups also create a more intimate experience. You’ll feel like you’re traveling with a group of close friends (who soon will be) and will stay in unique family-run lodgings such as chateaux, villas, quaint B&Bs full of local charm and mountain chalets that cannot accommodate larger group sizes. We’re proud to offer one of the best leader to customer ratios and some of the smallest group sizes in the industry. It’s just one example of our attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Not Your Typical Tour
We know different people have various interests while traveling, therefore our trips are designed to provide an appropriate balance between time spent together as a group and free time for you to explore on your own. In addition to the itinerary and scheduled group activities, there are opportunities for you to go on your own to visit museums, partake in additional adventure activities, or simply sit back and relax to relish the experience. Several of our tours incorporate “rest days” where you can choose from a variety of optional activities, and our leaders will help you choose which ones are the best fit for you depending on your interests and passions.
